SCBR Week 9/ Day 6 Food/Exercise Journal

7:30 am – Coffee – Content (5)

IMG_5763.JPG

I stayed up a bit late last night hanging with my friends and blogging, but managed to get going pretty well this morning. Today started with a mug of TJ’s Bolivian Fair Trade Organice Coffee.

Instead of milk, I opened my TJ’s Soy Milk Creamer to enjoy with coffee. I knew my friend from SF who loves soy was coming in town tonight would love this stuff! It’s so good!

9:30 am – AB + Banana Oats – Content (5)

Oats were Almond Butter (Barney Butter), banana slices, flaxseed, sliced almonds, and TJ’s old fashioned oats.

1:30 pm – Mahi Mahi – First Signs of Feeling Full (6)

I had lunch with some co-workers and my bosses today at a local seafood restaurant. I had a delicious Mahi Mahi (blackened) with a butter crab sauce. It was oh so good! The fish was served with asparagus, carrots, and rice pilaf. No photos, though…sorry!

I spent most of the day stalking a UPS delivery. Another camera goodie…can you believe it?

DSLR Macro Lens!

IMG_5767.JPG

I ordered a macro lens! I know it seems like I’ve been getting a lot of camera goodies lately, but seriously…I have been saving/lusting after these items for years…literally! Since I spent the last couple years paying off my credit card, I put off a few purchases I really wanted to make. Now that I’m spending my money more responsibly, I am able to save up and purchase said lust-worthy items, including this fabulous 50 mm F28 DG Macro by Sigma. I found a really good price for this particular item online recently and decided it was time!

Not to mention I’ve always had a love for photography. I took my first photography class (that I can remember) when I was in 5th grade and it was so cool! We got to develop our own film and everything, dipping the photographs in different baths of liquids to bring the photos to life.

I stalked the package all day and was so thrilled when I got a text from hubby saying my goodies had arrived!

Here are some sample photos I took with my new toy:

Guest in Town

IMG_5793.JPG

So, the Martha Stewart in me has been wanting to do all kinds of cutesy-home-related things, including things for guests. When I was purging my magazine collection, I recently ripped out a section completely dedicated to having guests over. One of the ideas I thought was do-able in our tiny apartment (the others were more for whole guest rooms), was this little guest box. I didn’t have all the same things, but I worked with what I had on hand.

I used the white tray I recently got from Target and put stuff inside that I remember kind of needing on my recent trip to San Fran.

IMG_5800.JPG

In the tray, I placed some PJ’s – Vera Bradley ones – to repay my friend who let me borrow PJ’s when I was in San Fran. I also added some mini toiletries, in case she was missing any.

I also placed a towel, hand towl, my latest Real Simple magazine, and some tea.

Another angle.

9:30 pm – Spanish Tapas – First Signs of Feeling Full (6)

IMG_5844.JPG

I wanted to take my friend somewhere chill for dinner, so we hit up a local Spanish tapas restaurant we frequent and frequently enjoy.

We got a pitcher of sangria for the girls…hubby had a Dos Equis.

We shared the tapas, sangria, and dessert on the lovely patio outside. The weather was beautiful – nice and warm. The patio was so pretty with all the lights. The dim lighting made the photography hard, though we did enjoy the ambiance.

Expect more great eats tomorrow before I drop my friend off at the airport. 🙂
