Last Day of ’09

I woke up this morning with a horrible crick in my neck, which meant I was going to be less productive than I had hoped to be. We still ended up having a pretty busy day!

I made baked banana oatmeal for breakfast.

Mix: 1 sliced banana, 3/4 cup oats, 1 1/2 cup milk, pinch flax, pinch salt, 2 tbsp maple syrup. Add to prepped casserole dish. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes until oatmeal cooked through – serves 2.

Later, I had organic lemongrass ginger tea w/ local honey to try to relax.

I finished The Lovely Bones. What a beautiful book! I loved it!

I had a toasted turkey sammie and leftover local sweet potato fries from last night (baked in oven to refresh) for lunch.

I noshed on local donuts and peppermint tea as an afternoon snack.

Hubby and I bought a new car!

Hubby and I got Mexican tonight for our NYE dinner.

We used to get dressed to the nines and party it up. Tonight, we wanted to be casual and comfy. We wore jeans and sweaters. It was quite nice.

Sopapilla for dessert! Nothing like sweet, chewy deep-fried dough. Mmm…cinnamon-sugary!

A good samaritan saw me placing the camera on a dining table to take our first photo. She offered to take another one and I happily accepted. Aww…see, there is lots of good in the world. I love random acts of kindness!

Hubby and I are planning to keep NYE low-key. We might watch a movie, but we’re definitely wearing PJs and staying IN! We’ll have a nice family NYE together relaxing…ahhh.

What did you do for New Year’s Eve?

  1. I'm going to have to read that book next I think, it sounds like an interesting story. It's nice to have a low key NYE 🙂 fried ice cream is my fav at Mexican restaurants, but that sopapilla looks wonderful. Happy New Year!
