It has worked out great. Yes, many pet stores get their dogs from puppy mills, but not all. He has been a big source of joy for us. We did get Moose from a breeder. He is a wonderful dog as well. Since you were not aware of the cruelties associated with buying a pet from a pet store, maybe you could dedicate a post to help educate other people about it. Puppy mills are an issue very close to my heart, as I hate to think about the suffering and horrific conditions those animals live (and many die) in. Many people do not realize the harm they are doing by not going to a reputable breeder or adopting a pet - that's why education is so important.
