So…as you guys know, I’m tuning the big 3-0 later this year. ARGH! lol. I’ve always said that instead of dreading it, I want to throw a massive party and celebrate my new age. I mean, 30 is the new 20, right?
Anywho, I definitely am starting to notice some signs that I’m leaving my 20’s and entering my 30’s.
Example: The new MTV Real World cast just hit TV and I’m not really interested…at all. Not that I was ever a raging Real World fan, but I used to enjoy watching it. Now I find it…kind of…boring? (though I do still like the Hills) I know there are some more good examples, but this one popped into my head since the Real World came on TV tonight. lol
Anyone else out there departing your 20’s? What about 30’s? 40’s? 50’s? More? What’s a sign you’ve noticed lately that you’re growing up and older?

I had an impromptu mid-week breakfast out with my friends Megan and Alex. We hit up The Flying Biscuit where I made a pint-sized High Flyer. Ok, it didn’t have all the elements, but it did have my faves: that freakin irresistible oatmeal pancake and peach topping, plus a fried egg over medium. Megan was a doll and gave me half a chicken sausage (which is what I probably should have gotten instead of the egg – I like to get things I don’t make at home when I’m out) and a wee piece of her biscuit.
I had co-workers in town for some meetings and they let me order food again! I ordered eats from a local healthy restaurant that sources as much organic as possible. The food was a big hit with everyone. Yay for healthy eating!
I had a chicken wrap with spinach, guac, tomatoes, cucumbers and a side of hummus and WW pita.
I ended up staying at work till after 7pm and then chatted with a co-worker till 7:45pm! I didn’t get home till 8pm, but lucky me, hubby is turning into quite the chef.
He whipped up some TJ’s breaded halibut, Annie’s mac and cheese (the creamy kind) and steamed broccoli with a drizzle of real, melted butter.
Remember to weigh in on signs you’re growing up! What have you noticed lately?
haha yes I too have noticed that my ideal Friday night is a quite night at home. A long way from the Friday night bar hopping I did in my early 20s!
I’m still in my 20s and I am not excited by the Real World at all anymore, either…so don’t let that make you feel “old” 🙂
I’ll be out of my 20’s in less than a year.
I am completely content now to stand/sit in the “old people section” for concerts. Last night I saw Offspring/311 w Mr CYSA & some friends and was happy in the back of the crowd, away from the crush of the front and the mosh pit. If I was early 20s I’d be right up there being smushed.
I am still in my 20’s (27 this year!) but I know I am getting old because there is a lot of music and fashion that “the kids” are into that I am clueless about or just don’t really “get” the appeal to.
Like that doofy surfer hair on boys… I just can’t see an attraction to it!
These are mine too…not “getting” the way kids dress these days and a lot of the music. Also, referring to people in their late teens and early 20s as “kids” 😉 I work at a college, so I am surrounded mostly by college-age kids (see there I go) all the time – well, graduate school level (Veterinary Medicine program). I still get mistaken for a student all the time so that makes me feel a little better.
I go to bed super early now! I cherish my sleep more than going out and having a good time. Seriously. I am old 😉
Your wrap looks delicious!
Just wanted to let the bloggers know that I am doing a giveaway for a sterling silver charm bracelet if anyone is interested. Enter here: http://couponclippingnutritionist.blogspot.com/2010/06/first-giveaway-charm-factory-bracelet.html
Thank you!
I’m pretty proud that at 22 I already have my degree, a year of real work experience under my belt, have been in a successful relationship for nearly 3 years, and pay almost all of my own bills.
I feel like my life is that of a much older person than 22!
You know you are getting older when someone who is 25 comments that “they are so old/it is all downhill from here”. Ummm, geeee…… thanks. Got tact?
I’m turning 30 this month. 🙁 I don’t like to dwell on it.
Signs that I’m older? I’d rather sleep than hang out. LOL! 😉
I noticed I was older when I would chat with younger colleagues and they’d say things and I’d smile to myself, able to see my younger self in them. Not in a patronising way, but in a way that I know a few years prior I would have reacted to something they said, but now it just kinda makes me laugh. The things I care about have changed, I guess 🙂
i turned 30 in may and it’s been fine 🙂 so don’t worry! i also feel like i’ve been about age 50-60 for several years now — the medical field’s fault! i love me some quiet evenings at home and a 9:30 pm bedtime. ahhhhhhh . . .
