There are many “bad” eating habits that I’ve been able to conquer:
- Soda
- Bagels + Cream Cheese (eaten almost every day)
- Fast Food
- Fried Food
- Late Night Snacking
- Processed Foods
But there is at least one major one that remains…
Sweets.
Just look at those layers of sugar!
While I feel that at least consuming real sugars like I do (NOT aspartame, sucralose and other faux sweeteners I kindly refer to as “rat poison”), sugar in excess is not a good thing. I recognize this. But…I’m not quite ready to change my habits. I think part of the way to conquer “bad” eating habits is being in the right frame of mind…and I’m just not quite ready to let go of my sugar habit. I feel myself leaning that way, but I’m not sold 100%.
So until then, I’ll continue to splurge a bit…
Breakfast = fried cage-free egg and half a cinnamon roll.
Lunch was a veggie sammie topped with a quick cumin/turmeric/yogurt sauce with a dash of garlic powder and some fresh parsley from my garden.
I put the sauce on top of a Sunshine falafel burger on Dakota toast
With a side of cherry tomatoes from my garden.
And I split some instant Annie’s mac and cheese with hubby.
I’m going to a childhood friend’s wedding tonight! So excited! 🙂
Would anyone be interested in blog posts on how I conquered my bad eating habits? I’d be happy to talk to any of the points above. I’ve already received a request for how-to-kick-the-soda-habit. 🙂
okay, hold it– There are falafel burgers that I’m not aware of?! I thought these only existed at one of my favorite cafes?! Can you buy them at a store?! where, where?! You must tell me!
Also, I’d definitely be interested to know how you kicked a soda habit… fountain sodas are pretty much like coffee to me.
Yuppers! Sunshine burgers has some: http://www.sunshineburger.com/?products=falafel-patty 🙂
Absolutely interested! I just did a post (seriously, like 5 minutes ago) on my top 5 processed food weaknesses. Doh! I am not as far along as you.
i would love to hear posts about conquering your eating habits! i definitely think that’s super relevant and would be a fantastic read 🙂
I could never give up sweets either… or I can’t even think about my life without them. Maybe one day I just want crave sweets anymore? But, until that day I am happy to oblige 🙂
I would love to hear about how you kicked the late night snacking habit. I have the same problem about once a week or so.
I have such a sweet tooth too – I know it’s not a great habit, but I also know that I take care of myself well enough that the indulgences are all good in my book 🙂
I’d love to hear about how you kicked bad habits!
Yes! I go for weeks without a soda, and then the evil temptation returns, and I just can’t seem to quit for good. Sweets are also a weakness for me, but I do not think I will ever want to give those up completely, so I just go for moderation with them. Fast food does not tempt me at all, so that is one strength that I have.
I would love to hear how you got past eating all of that! I’d also like some ideas on how to give up sugar too.. Even though your not quite there yet.
I would love to hear how you kicked the late night snacking. I never was one to eat late at night and then I got married and my husband is a HUGE late night eater and I eventually joined him. His metabolism is so high he can eat like he does and not gain a pound. While me on the other hand..not so much! 🙂
I love Annie’s mac and cheese! yum!
I agree with you about having a little sugar. A cinnamon roll is one of the best ways to splurge in my opinion!!
That breakfast looks delicious! I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but fried eggs are my weakness. I could eat them every morning. And that yogurt concotion is a must try
I would love how you kicked those habits. I also need to kick the sugar habit.
Correction: I would love to hear how you kicked those habits.
That cinnamon rolls looks amazing! I definitely wouldn’t consider it “bad” though. Doesn’t cinnamon have several health benefits?! 🙂 I think we’re supposed to get at least 1 teaspoon a day. Just think, you were getting your daily does of healthy cinnamon!!
Yesssssssssss! I like the way you think! 🙂
Yes, post to your heart’s content about conquering the bad habits, I’ll read every one… And then hope for strength to make some positive changes… You inspire!
I am right there with you girl! I could never give up sweets, and I’m honestly not sure if I want to. Especially when GH cinnamon rolls are soooo good 🙂
I’d like to hear how you kicked your habits. I could give up all soda except for root beer. I can’t live without root beer. It fixes everything 🙂
