Train Train Train

Today was a long day, but I don’t mean to say that in a bad way. Rather, it was one of those “boy was that a long day but I feel awesome about it” kind of days. *grin*

Things started early around 7:30am when my friend Sarah came over for an oatmeal breakfast.

I made chocolate banana coconut oats with chia seeds, almonds, and pepitas. It turned out to the be the perfect breakfast, because we needed something satisfying but light for the day ahead – full of workouts and training. I find many breakfasts too heavy to eat before a major workout, but this sit perfectly.

Sarah and I met up with most of our Zumba company’s current instructors and those in training. I started things off with a quick photo shoot for our new girls. So fun! You guys know I love taking pictures. We had a 90 minute Zumba class from 9:00-10:30am, followed by instructor training till 4:30pm.

I’ve done Zumba Basic 1 training and I’ve completed the AFAA Primary Group Fitness exam, but my Zumba company likes to do additional training sessions internally. You guys know me…I’m a total perfectionist and like to learn and grow all the time. I think truly believe there’s always something to learn. Thusly, I’ll take any training I can get. And my instructor friends put on some pretty amazing training. 😉

We broke for lunch after noon and headed to Panera.

I got the combo meal with chicken noodle soup, Thai chicken salad, and baguette.

After lunch, we headed back for the rest of training and wrapped things up around 4:30pm. Phew! It was a long but fruitful day. Today’s training was geared mostly towards our new instructors, but I still learned a lot today! I’m hoping to use my take-aways to continue improving my classes.

A day of hard work calls for a reward. Nothing better than froyo, right?!

I headed with Ashley and Sarah to yoforia for some post-training snackage.

I got plain and pomegranate froyos and topped them with lots of fruit (kiwi, mango, strawberry) and my love – mochi. Nom!

Hubby and I ended up having a relaxing evening in. We got take-out from our fave local Mexican restaurant and watched Despicable Me. Have you seen it yet? I had no intentions of seeing that movie until a friend said it was really good. Upon their recommendation, we checked it out tonight and it did not disappoint. I thought it was super cute!

Have you seen any good movies lately?

  1. Your breakfast looks delicious, and seems like exactly what you needed for the day. I’ve never done Zumba, but I think I would enjoy it! I was a dancer growing up, so it seems like a great idea:)

  3. How fun!!! I seriously need to come to your Zumba class soon, I’ve wanted to for so long!

I haven’t watched any *new* movies lately that were anything spectacular, however, I just watched You’ve Got Mail… which is one of the best movies EVER.

  4. Despicable Me is a big favorite. Another kids movie that is surprisingly delightful is Horton Hears A Who. Steve Carrell, Jim Carey, Carol Burnette, Seth Rogan, Jonah Hill…. and more. Its good times.

  5. I love hearing about your experiences with Zumba, and I know this is a repeat comment, but your posts about being a Zumba instructor inspires me to stop putting off getting spin certified.
