Hey Suzie! Sounds good. The figs I used in this recipe were given to me by a neighbor when they were already ready to eat. I found this informative article from The Kitchn, which has some tips for selecting and storing figs - it looks really useful! http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-select-and-store-figs-126382 HTH :)

Thank-you, I will try that, but I will also look for fresh figs to give that a try. I tried fresh figs once, but they had not taste, so I was concerned. I did not know which one to pick and the person who helped me must not have known either. Any hints on how to choose a good fresh fig. Thank-you,

Hi Suzie! Glad you like the green monsters! :) I'm not sure if the dried figs would yield the same flavor, but you can definitely use dried figs in a smoothie, in general. A lot of people use dried dates as the natural sweetener in their smoothies and desserts. I've been meaning to develop a couple recipes trying that out. But, back to your question, I'd soak the dried figs in water for at least 20 minutes and up to overnight. Then chop them up a bit and add them to the other smoothie ingredients and blend up. HTH! Diana

Nope, that's it! I think the original came from the Raw Food Real World cookbook. My boyfriend makes it all the time for his breakfast.

Nice Shivani! Good luck with your new veganism. There are lots of fabulous vegan blogs out there, so I'm sure you'll find plenty to make. I hope you like this smoothie recipe! :)
