Beat the Heat {Outfit}

How’s the weather where you are? The temps here in NC have been in the 100s! I’ve been strategically dressing to try to beat the heat. It seems too hot for denim, so I’m reaching for sundresses, flowy skirts, and khakis. Are khakis a Southern thing? I don’t feel like I see it anywhere else as much as I do here.

Anywho, I made another score (click here for my last consignment score) at Fifi’s over the weekend. I got this gold MICHAEL Michael Kors tote for just over $60. Not too shabby.

And a recent eats photo from Friday night – grilled burgers (from Earthfare) with waffle fries and grilled asparagus.

Did you see my latest summer dessert (click)? I’m hoping to post one more Fourth of July themed recipe before Wednesday. Hope I can make it work!

I’m all packed and leaving tomorrow for a business trip to Pittsburgh, PA. It’s a short trip, but I’m hoping to at least check out a good restaurant while I’m there. Any recommendations on restaurants in the downtown area?

    • Thanks, Trang! I think this outfit was accidentally sort of a Fourth of July look. lol 😛 I wanted to come up with more recipes, but the strawberry cream cake and red, white, and blue muffins were all I could manage this year. Better than nothing, right? 🙂

    • Thanks, Emily! Glad to hear you guys are enjoying them. Yup, my hair is naturally wavy. I usually wear it more wavy in the spring and summer when I give up on fighting the humidity. lol. Plus, it takes way less time to style my hair curly. 🙂
