Tonal Whites {Outfit} & Sunday Eats

I’ve had such a good weekend, and I hope you have, too! On Friday, I went to a going away party for a friend and hung out with a fantastic, new group of people. I even learned about a new board game, which I’d like to purchase very soon – Sequence. Ever played it? I spent most of Saturday at the pool for another friend’s birthday, which was a real treat…especially since it was the first time I’ve been in a bathing suit this year.

We started Sunday off with a treat – brunch at one of our favorite spots – The Original Pancake House. Last time, I got a little more dressed up since we were dining with friends. This time, it was just me and my husband, so I went casual with these designer cut-off shorts that I just scored at Marshall’s for only $29.99. I paired it with a J. Crew tank top that I purchased on major sale a few years ago for about $7. I almost put this top in the toss pile when I was last cleaning out my closet, but I’m glad I kept it. I loved the off-white top with the crisp-white shorts. You know how I feel about tonal colors. 😉

We had coffee at the house, so I opted for fresh-squeezed orange juice at the restaurant, The Original Pancake House. I used to hate pulp when I was younger, but I’m slowly starting to enjoy it. I think the pulp makes me think more of fresh-squeezed than pre-processed.

I got the same thing I did last time. Those pancakes were too good to not get again. I considered getting a plate of just pancakes, but I prefer a mixture of both savory and sweet.

And for dinner we had grilled BBQ chicken, grilled corn, and steamed broccolini.

What were your favorite eats of the weekend?

  1. I like the loose tank!

This weekend we went back to a raw restaurant which was really good. I don’t usually have dessert there as their main courses are so filling, but I couldn’t walk away from the raw white chocolate and jasmine tart with a cacao nib crust, espresso syrup and apricot puree. It was heaven sent!

    • Ha! I’m like the opposite of you when it comes to raw restaurants. I haven’t really been able to get into the food, but I LOVE the desserts! The best coconut cream pie I ever had was raw and from Cafe Gratitude in San Francisco, CA. I ended up making a vegan version, but it wasn’t raw. I crave that pie! lol
