Stripes & Shorts {Outfit} & Garlic-Sherry Chicken {Eats}

I’ve had the pleasure of WFH all week this week thanks to the DNC being in town, which means home-cooked food for lunch, Bailey as my office mate, and 0 commute. I even managed to whip up a new recipe {healthy blueberry muffins – recipe coming soon}.

I got this shirt off the clearance racks at Banana Republic a few years ago. It actually has very fine green and white stripes. I should have taken a closer photo so you can see. I love the tab details on the sleeves…plus they help keep the sleeves rolled up.

Please ignore the belt sitting a touch too low. Don’t ya hate when you’re in between notches and your belt ends up too tight or loose?

I thought this outfit would also look good with TOMS for a more casual look.

Which shoe do you prefer with this outfit: the wedges or the TOMS?

Outfit:

  • white cut-off shorts: Rich & Skinny (via Marshall’s)
  • button-down: Banana Republic
  • wedges: MICHAEL Michael Kors
  • flats: TOMS

On the shopping front, did anyone else see the 25% coupon Madewell did over Labor Day weekend? I did, and I pounced on the deal, purchasing the archive boots and biker boots (and promising myself to not buy anything else for a long time). Unfortunately, though the shoes were beautiful, they just didn’t fit my feet, and I had to return them. I’m considering doing a review post in case anyone else finds it helpful. We’ll see.

And for my eats-post-lovers, here’s a dinner from this week:

It’s garlic-sherry chicken (a recipe I make from memory that is adapted from a Rachael Ray recipe…maybe I should post that, too?), saffron rice, and steamed broccolini.

I’m all packed up and ready for another road trip! I’m hoping for good weather, though weather.com has been reporting rain ahead (despite my checking everyday hoping for something to change). Wish me luck!
