Choose Your Focus

We get to choose where we focus our attention every day.

Choose Your Focus

At the end of the day, you can either focus on what’s tearing you apart, or you can focus on what’s keeping you together.

Side note: I can’t locate the original source of this quote, but I’d love to find out if anyone knows.

It’s amazing how powerful our thoughts are. I’ve never thought of myself as much of an optimist, but I have been working on changing my thoughts and focusing on more positive thinking in the last several years. I didn’t realize how negative some of my thoughts were until I started paying attention to where my thoughts were going. Yea, yea…the whole glass half empty or half full thing. Turns out, I was looking at the world with a (mostly) glass half empty POV.

It’s taken me some time, but I’m more of a glass half full kind of girl these days, and I’m loving it. Focusing on the positives seems to attract more positive thoughts, people, and experiences to my life. Despite this, I’m no zen master. Positive thinking isn’t always the easiest to maintain. I have to work at it. In fact, I was in a funk earlier today when I stumbled across this quote. It was a good reminder to me to make a conscious choice to focus on the good.

Remember, you get to choose where your thoughts go.
