I’ve been running The Chic Life since 2006, and it’s been quite the ride. Blogging has taken me on adventures I never saw coming, and it’s been one of the best things I’ve ever done. I originally created this blog as a creative outlet. Over time, I heard so much positive feedback from readers like you that I learned that I could turn this blog into more. While it may sound a little silly to some, TCL has become one of my ways of trying to make the world a better place.
I feel most successful when I hear from readers that I’ve helped you feel empowered in the kitchen, that you cooked something you didn’t know you could, that you started teaching Zumba, that you saved a bunch of money doing Eat in Month, that I helped you purge your wardrobe, or that I helped you get your children (or SO) to eat vegetables. The stories you share with me are the reason I keep blogging. There’s already so much negativity and stress in the world, if I can do something, even if it’s small, to spread positivity and encourage you to better yourself, then it was all worth it.
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – that is to have succeeded ― Ralph Waldo Emerson
Unless otherwise specified, all content is written/created by me. I’m sometimes paid in ad revenue, sponsorship, and other forms of compensation. This help me keep this blog running and offering free content. I will identify these when they are used. Please know my first goal is to share something that I think you may find helpful, useful, informative, or interesting. I actually get offers for free products and services or other revenue opportunities fairly frequently. I just turn the majority of them down. I’d rather purchase a product to review when I really like it than review something I’m not interested in. I’d rather talk about what I want to talk about and what I think will interest you in non-sponsored content than get paid to talk about something I don’t believe in. I believe in running this site with integrity. All opinions expressed on this site are my own.
No Medical Advice
The Chic Life is an opinion-based site that provides information on healthy living via food, fitness, beauty, lifestyle, and other posts. However, the content on this site is for informational and educational purposes only and is not meant to be used as medical advice or recommendation. I’m not a doctor or registered dietician. Please work with your health care provider before making changes to your diet, fitness, or lifestyle. While I wish I could promise that the opinions and information shared here would fix any or all of your current concerns, it would be impossible to promise that. No guarantees are made to the performance and/or effectiveness of the content here, and it should not be used to diagnose or treat any health concerns. While I aim to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information at the time of posting, health information can vary between sources and change frequently. Please do your research and use this information as an input to make decisions with those who are qualified to help you do so. The Chic Life shall not be held responsible for loss or damage of any nature suffered as a result of reliance on the information contained on this website or any errors or omissions herein.
I often link to other web sites or products. Sometimes, these links are referral or affiliate links. If you use these links and purchase products or services, sign up for accounts, etc. through them I will earn a small commission/credit. I only add referral/affiliate links to products/services I love.
I personally find products and services linked on other blogs really helpful, and I hope you do too. What I don’t like is when products or services with referral/affiliate links are not spelled out on other sites such that you have to click on the link to get the related information. For example: “click here to view my new favorite sweater!” This doesn’t give you the choice to use a referral/affiliate link. So that you have the choice, I will spell out a product/service so you can find it via other methods if you do not like to use affiliate links.
Referral/affiliate links include, but are not limited to: Erin Condren, Boxycharm, and Amazon.
The Chic Life is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.
Additionally, I may receive free or discounted products/services. These will be clearly disclosed. And, all opinions expressed on this blog are my own. I try to keep this blog an overall positive place. If you don’t see a lot of negative feedback about something, it’s because I’d rather just not talk about things I don’t like (and they will likely not show up on the blog at all). I much more prefer to focus on products and services I know, love, and personally use. I’m open to trying new products/services that I think may interest you, but I will only write honest opinions about them. I will not post a positive review just because am I paid/compensated.
I’m open to sponsored content as long as it’s something in line with this blog and something I think will interest my readers. Just like with products/services, I will not post positive reviews/feedback/etc. just because I’m compensated. If I do any sponsored content, it will be identified and all opinions expressed will be my own.
I really value your trust and support. If you ever have any questions (or if you just want to chat), please don’t hesitate to contact me using my Contact page or by emailing thechiclife at gmail dot com. Thank you for reading!
