One year ago today, 5/25/08, we kicked off a weeklong honeymoon celebration in the beautiful Bahamas.
Newlyweds
Since my camera went missing the previous night at the reception, early on during the honeymoon, we took the jitney bus into town to go camera shopping. This is the first picture I took with the camera from inside the jitney.
The grounds where we stayed were beautiful – plush and full of foliage.
I really liked our patio area – we ordered a room-service breakfast here our first morning.
The grounds had a teppanyaki restaurant.
Fireworks
I thought the teppanyaki dinner was ok. Hubby loved it, but I get used to having particular things at particular styles of meals and I wasn’t crazy about the different flavorings they did and the fact that we didn’t get dipping sauces. The sauces are one of my fave parts!
The buffet-style restaurant on-site was one of our faves.
So much variety and so many good options!
I couldn’t get over the water…it’s so clear.
Some of the restaurants on-site were fancier than the others. Loved this chandelier.
Yummy French-Onion Soup.
Dinner + Dessert
We made a trip out to see Atlantis for a day.
The aquariums were super cool.
Check out the neat-looking jellyfish.
We got to play with starfish.
We enjoyed the rides they had at Atlantis. I’m a big fan of water parks.
The beach area at Atlantis was pretty fantastic, too.
The grounds were gorgeous.
Palm trees.
The buildings were so huge. We’d love to come back here to visit, but I’m glad we didn’t stay here for our honeymoon – we liked our cozy resort.
Dinner on the pier.
Scallop appetizer
Bahama Mama
Salad, surf + turf, crab legs, and dessert.
Devoured!
Our little beach hut.
View from the beach hut.
Another angle.
Beach hut roof from the inside.
Lounging on the hammock.
That water!
Outdoor cafe – the view was too cool.
Cafe menu.
Simple lunch.
More beach time.
Dinner table-setting.
Good eats.
We took a special trip to see the dolphins at Dolphin Encounters .
We watched the dolphins do flips and tricks.
Then, we got in the water to see the dolphins up close and personal.
Here’s hubby swimming with the dolphins – they’re pushing his feet under the water.
We had a blast swimming with the dolphins…I highly recommend it if you get the opportunity.
Love this picture of hubby. 🙂
The honeymoon was amazing…we both can’t wait to go back.
Till then, happy anniversary hubby! Love you!
