Zumba Convention 2017 VLOG: Day 2 (Hip Hop Turn Up, Fly Girl 101, and Fitness Concert Photos)

Hey guys! Here’s my Zumba Convention 2017 Day 2 experience in photos and video! I’ve embedded the video at the end of this post. In this post, I’m sharing about my sessions (Hip Hop Turn Up and Fly Girl 101), photos from the Fitness Concert with Daddy Yankee, and of course – what I ate!

My ZinCon 2017 Day 2 Experience

Breakfast from the Hilton Marketplace

The executive lounge was closed at the Hilton, and I don’t have enough points / status to get the continental breakfast they did at one of the hotel restaurants, so I went to the Marketplace. I picked up a grande soy latte and an egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin.

Zumbawear Haul #1

After filming the Zumbawear store and my try-on of some items, I realized that I forgot to post what I bought. So, that’s in my day 2 post and vlog. I got a tie dyed pink tank and colorful sports bra. I thought I was doing pretty well getting only two things…

Btw – I went back to the store and got more. Hehe. That will be in another post / vlog.

Hip Hop Turn Up – My Fourth Time!

This was my FOURTH time doing Hip Hop Turn Up! I’ve been doing these sessions since they first began in 2014. Whoa! I keep coming back for good reason – Gina and Dahrio are amazing presenters, and their session is always so fun. And they have so much fresh choreo every year. It’s never repetitive or boring, so I feel like I can come back year after year and have a great time!

Thanks for the fun session, Dahrio and Gina! Congrats on your latest family addition!

Lunch at the Hotel

To save time and money, we like to get groceries to make lunches at the hotel. So, I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with a handful of grape tomatoes, some chips, some watermelon, and plenty of liquids (water and coconut water).

Pool Time

Every year, I say I’ll spend some QT at the pool. But, I’d pretty much have to skip sessions to have a lot of time out there. And though that’s tempting when you’re tired, I’ve never regretted pushing myself to attend every session.

So yea, I got about 20 minutes poolside, but hey…better than nothing!

Fly Girl 101

I signed up to Fly Girl 101 with no expectations. I really didn’t know what it was about. I ran into my friends Sara and Blythe by the pool, and they told me it would be super fun with plenty of 90s tunes. Yas!

Lisa Marie was a really engaging presenter. She made me laugh and made me dance like crazy. She taught us a series of dance moves that we built up similar to a hip hop class but with more repetition of moves. It was somewhere between Zumba and a hip hop class to me. Lisa Marie explained that we could take those moves and use them as is or put them together in different orders to different songs. Very teach a man to fish style, which was great. I love having cute moves in my choreo bank. Woop!

Dinner at David’s (Hilton Orlando)

Paola and I met up with Sara and Blythe for dinner at David’s inside the Hilton Orlando. They were on too long a wait so we ate in the lounge area, which was just fine with us. We got the same menu there. I had the crab burger with curly fries. Mmm!

That Zumba Convention hunger can hit you hard! Lol!

Fitness Concert Photos

The Fitness Concert was SO much fun! I knew Daddy Yankee would be there, but they had so many more guest artists like Machel Montano and Jencarlos. So so cool!

I was so excited to see Daddy Yankee live! He was my first favorite artist from my Zumba classes, and his music helped me love Zumba and discover the wonderful world of Reggaeton! My first fave Zumba song is by him – “Machucando”! I used to request it every week!

Here are some photos from the 2017 Fitness Concert:

Daddy Yankee did many of my faves like Limbo and Gasolina. But he ended the night with Despacito and even did his own freestyle on the Luis Fonsi part. Ooh!

And this is one of my favorite photos every year. The energy here is crazy good! Everyone is so pumped from the concert. They’re cheering, singing, and waving their flags. I just love it.
