So I’m writing this about 30,000+ miles in the air flying to NYC. I was planning to share a different Motivation Monday quote, but I just heard about Gene Wilder passing. Maybe 10 minutes before boarding the plane. Gene was famous for many movies, but I’ll remember him best as Willy Wonka.
{My favorite scene of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory}
I’ve always been famous in my family for my sweet tooth. So, it may come as no surprise that Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was one of my favorite movies growing up. But outside of the day dreams I had about swimming (safely) in that chocolate river or twirling about the giant candy room, the movie meant more to me.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory was a movie about always keeping your imagination alive. About the ability to be successful despite your simple background. And also about being a good person and doing the right thing.
Watching the movie made me feel like I could do anything if I persevered and believed in myself. Where some saw a silly boy buying more chocolate than he could really afford, I saw hope. And a boy who continued to believe that anything was possible.
{I found this photo via a Google search and dropped one of my favorite lines onto it to make a shareable image – hope you like it!}
If you want to view paradise,
simply look around and view it.
Anything you want to, do it.
Want to change the world?
There’s nothing to it.
Maybe it’s foolish to continue to believe that anything is possible in this world. But, I’d rather live in that hope than settle for mediocre.
Hold your breath. Make a wish. Count to three.
Any other Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory fans out there? Did you take anything special from the movie?
