Before I get into the weekend adventures, I have to share this quickly…
I got these hot cross buns in NYC at Bluestone on Good Friday. Aren’t they cute?
Ok, on to Charlotteā¦
After enjoying the best burger in Charlotte on Friday, I spent a little time Saturday morning getting some blog work done. I’m doing a trial run of my upcoming healthy eating challenge to try to work out the kinks. Good thing I did because the email tool I was using was not at all intuitive in trying to set up what I wanted. I spent a frustrating morning trying to get a few things done to get my first email out the door with no luck. Hey, you live, you learn, right?
Whilst working on the challenge, I enjoyed an egg and cheese on sourdough with a matcha latte at Sunflour.
Then, it was time to head off to meet my dance friends for an afternoon of eats and catching up.
For fun, I met my friend Dana at the train that goes into uptown. While you can get (I think) 90 minutes free parking at the 7th street garage, we really like to talk. And parking is expensive after that first free 90. So we parked outside of uptown and took the train in.
Look at the view of the city!

The train is nothing like NYC public transportation. This was cute, charming, it smelled good, and it was also free. People on the train looked happy and cheerful. There was a ton of beautiful, natural light spilling through the windows. It was really relaxing. Definitely not the same experience as riding the NYC subway. Haha.
Public transportation in Charlotte is so new and pretty. Look at that cute little light rail.
We met at 7th street because there’s something for everyone. Plus they have some of my favorite eats/drinks: Pure Pizza, Not Just Coffee, Viva Raw, and Rico’s Acai.
I was still a little full from breakfast, but I knew if I didn’t eat lunch, I’d get hungry at an awkward time later in the day. So, I shared this pizza and Greek salad from Pure Pizza with Dana.
I also enjoyed a Viva Raw “Great Fruit” juice.
And I can’t not get Not Just Coffee. This is a delicious mocha.

I miss my dance friends so much. Giving up my dance fitness classes was one of the hardest things I’ve done. Our classes had such a special group of people, from the team to the participants, to my fellow instructors. I think about them almost every day and look back on that time of my life with fond memories. And it makes me so happy that I know I’ll be able to make new memories as we continue to see each other in the future.
Till next time!
