You must be your first priority. Start acting like it.

With life so hectic these days, it’s SO easy to forget to make yourself a priority in your own life. Isn’t that wild? So here’s your gentle reminder to do just that.

Quote graphic says: You must be your first priority. Your life, your ambitions, your health, your happiness are all important. Start acting like it.

l remember the first time I realized that I wasn’t prioritizing myself.

It happens in such a sneaky way, doesn’t it?

  • One minute you’re bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to conquer the world.
  • The next you’re just trying to decompress from the stressful day you had at work and commuting through traffic. Trying to figure out something easy to make for dinner so you don’t give in to ordering take out…again.

I realized one day that I’d basically been living life for awhile on auto-pilot. A scary place to be indeed.

That’s just no way to live a life.

I believe there’s more to life than going to work, coming home, eating dinner, and watching TV til you pass out.

And if you agree, then here’s your wake-up and/or reminder that if you want to really live a life you love, then YOU have to make YOU a priority.

I know this is totally one of those easier said than done kinda things.

But at the same time, we have two choices:

  1. Keep doing the same thing and get the same results
  2. Find a way, no matter how hard, to make changes and take back control of our life

I may get caught up in life. But when I have these moments of clarity, I like to believe that where there’s a will there’s a way. Maybe I can’t take care of ALL the things at one time.

But I can start somewhere.

So whether you want to

…hold onto the belief that it’s possible. And keep moving forward, no matter how tiny the steps.

Since we’re all about action here, I’ve written some journal prompts to accompany this quote.

Journal Prompts to help you make *you* a priority

Let’s just start small. And then repeat over time.

Remember: small changes are a powerful way to make real, lasting change. Especially for busy people like us!
