This online bake sale and auction brings together a wonderful collection of bloggers and their friends and family from the food and healthy living blogger community. Additionally, some of my friends in Charlotte, NC wanted to participate, so there is a special section for items that will require a Charlotte, NC pick-up arrangement. The money raised from this bake sale and auction will benefit the American Red Cross and World Food Programme (bidder’s choice on which charity they will donate to) to help with the Typhoon Haiyan relief for the Philippines.
Please read below for details/instructions on how the auction will work.
How Can I Help?
Now that the call for donations/bakers has closed, there are 2 ways to help with the auction:
- Bid – take a look at the items up for auction below and make a bid. 100% of the bid will be donated by the winning bidder to their charity of choice (American Red Cross or World Food Programme)
- Spread the Word – please help spread the world by sharing this auction with your friends, family, and co-workers using any of the share buttons at the end of this page, sharing the badge (code below), or otherwise sharing this auction via your social media outlets, etc.

How the Auction Works (Overview, How to Bid, If You Win):
- The auction will OPEN at 9pm ET on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 and will run for 24 hours, CLOSING at 9pm ET on Friday, November 22nd, 2013.
- The list of items up for auction are listed below. Please click on the respective link to view the auction page for the item you’re interested in bidding on.
- How to Bid: on the individual page for the item you want to bid on, leave a comment with a valid email address with the amount you’d like to bid. Please use at least $1 increments. The comments are time-stamped, so the comment with the highest bid amount before 9pm ET on Friday, November 22nd, 2013 will be considered the winning bidder. (Comments/bids posted after the auction closes will not be accepted)
- If you’re the highest bidder: I will email the winning bidder to let them know they won their respective auction item. The winning bidder will have 24 hours from the sent time of my email to reply and make their donation to the typhoon relief fund for the charity of choice (American Red Cross or World Food Programme). The winning bidder will forward/email their receipt proving their donation was made, and I will let the donator/baker know their auction donation was made. The donator/baker and the winning bidder will work together to determine how/when their winning item(s) will be shipped and will complete the auction from there. I’ve asked the bakers to ship your treats as quickly as possible, but please be sure to take a look at your treats upon receipt as these baked goods are perishable. Eat at your own risk. If you have questions about expirations, etc. get you in touch with your baker to discuss.
- NOTE: If I do not hear from the winning bidder within 24 hours of emailing them, I will move to the next highest bidder. If you haven’t heard from me within 24 hours of the close of the auction, please check your spam folder or email me at thechiclife at gmail dot com.
