Hello friends!
Here are some of my eats from this week. It’s been another cold week, but I had some great food to cozy up with. This is a bit of a mix of food from different days.
Cozy Winter Eats
With the weather being so cold (it was in the low 20s today), I like to eat oatmeal at least once a week for the immunity boosting properties. It’s also nice having a warm and cozy breakfast to start the day.
This is a bowl of blueberry oatmeal (click for my recipe) topped with pumpkin seeds and a spoonful of Peanut Butter & Co Crunch Time (Chunky PB).
I’m still loving Flat Whites sans sugar. I’ve come a long way on kicking the sugar. Several years ago, the white chocolate mocha at Starbucks used to be my jam. It’s great to not be consuming so much extra sugar now. Bluestone, you have my heart.
Also, look at those rainbow bubbles!
Another thing I like to eat once a week is lunch at Between the Bread. I’ve accidentally gone carb-free for these meals because the grains are considered a side at BtB. For me, the veggies are too delicious to skip.
On this day, I had the chicken with honey mustard sauce, kale salad (with apples, cranberries, and pumpkin seeds), and roasted veggies. I was glad to see they’ve recently added beets to the roasted veggie mix. It’s even more delicious now!
For the perfect snow day dinner, I cooked my Healthier Chicken and Dumplings. Click here to get the recipe. This with a movie and a glass of wine was so lovely to enjoy indoors. I watched “Enchanted” with my friend. I had forgotten it was filmed in NYC! And we had chocolate cake from a local bakery for dessert. Yum!
NYC Snow Day Photos {February 2017}
I thought you may like to see a couple photos from the snow we had this week. These are actually from the day after because (unlike with Jonas), I didn’t go anywhere while it was snowing.
Look how the cones are covered in snow.
And here’s Bryant Park looking pretty frosty. And still gorgeous.
