I’ve had an idea for a cute Valentine’s Day craft project for awhile, but I haven’t had the time to breath life into my design…not until yesterday after work.
I actually started a few days ago by sketching out a couple ideas. I thought about making some totes or random sewn goodies, but the aprons won out. I really wanted to do an apron with a cute, heart-shaped pocket.
I’ve been working really hard on developing my fabric stash (read I can’t stop buying cute fabric), so after choosing my sketch, I had to pick out my colors and fabrics from my ever-growing stash, which was pretty easy.
So, yesterday, there was some cutting and piecing and sewing.
I actually had most of the apron put together yesterday, but sleepiness made me wait until tonight to finish. I almost didn’t do the ruffly edge on the bottom because it seemed kinda complicated, but it turned out ok.
Ta-da! Wow – that heart pocket turned out way bigger than I thought it would! Oh well, it’s still cute. Now I have something Valentines-y to wear to do some Valentines baking!
It turned out very cute. Great job.
Wow, you already have an excuse to need a ruffler attachment or a gathering foot! 🙂
Very cute Diana!
I love this!!!! You did a fantastic job:-).
You are a walking talking Valentine !! Very nice. I like the larger pocket…. adds something special to the overall design.
Adorable, I love the color combinations. Now what you have to do is just wear that and nothing else on the 14th and make your SO smile. I'm a bad girl, I know, but I couldn't resist. Enjoy your apron and great job.
so cute!!! love it!
cutie. I have never made aprons in my life (never used it either). I should try…
Absolutely! My Max Mara Leopard Print Faux Fur Winter coat. Full swing coat above the knee with hood. It is such a show stopper that I have been wenirag it for the past 21 years and I still get compliments every time I wear it. I want to keep for as long as possible so I only wear it on special occasions now. My other favorite item? My multiple black turtlenecks.
