I know…it’s Sunday and I’m just getting to my Friday post. We headed out of town this past weekend, so I’m a bit behind. I’ll try to keep these short so I can catch up and get to Sunday (except for my fab bloggy outing on Sat which will get it’s due posting) 🙂
7:30 am – Coffee – Content (5)
Since I haven’t been able to make it to Fresh Market, hubby took a trip out earlier last week. I asked him to pick up some Breakfast Blend and something new. He got Breakfast Blend and Spring Blend , the latter being the one we’ve been drinking the last few weeks. Guess he forgot we already had it, but we enjoyed it anyways, so I’m a happy camper.
I happily brewed up the FM Breakfast Blend, which is my fave. The BB doesn’t have a distinct flavor – it’s not flavored like vanilla or caramel – it’s just smooth and a great every-day brew.
11:00 am – Blueberries N Cream Oats – Content (5)
I made some blueberries n cream oatmeal for breakfast, but couldn’t make it until after my 9 am and 10 am conference calls were over, so it was a bit late, but still very enjoyable. I topped the bowl with chopped hazelnuts, which gave the bowl a totally new texture – these nuts were a lot more chewy than the almonds I usually use.
1:00 pm – Toasted Sandwich + Broccoli – First Signs of Feeling Full (6)
I made another toasted sandwich, sans green pepper time time around. I also grabbed a small handful of chips and a piece of cake that I thought was cornbread – both leftovers from some sort of party a group on my floor had.
I did manage to get a nice, hefty serving of greenery by bringing in a big container or raw organic broccoli – I just ate this nice, plain, and raw. I really like raw veggies and they’re so much easier than having to deal with cooking something in the office or re-heating something cooked from the previous day (which never seems to taste the same).
5:00 pm – 1/2 Cool Mint Clif Bar – Content (5)
I was down to the last Clif bar in my drawer at work – Cool Mint Chocolate. For some reason, this flavor both intrigued me and scared me at the same time…scared me because “cool mint” didn’t sound like it would taste right in energy bar format.
The bar turned out to be pretty darn good. I only ate 1/2 since I didn’t want to be too full before zumba!
6:00 pm – Zumba! – Pumped!
I went to a back-to-back Friday after work and surprisingly felt like I still had my regular energy levels throughout class. I’m working on really letting loose in zumba class and really trying to move my body to the fullest extent to ensure I get the best workout.
When I was counting calories, I asked my zumba instructor how many calories she burned in class and she said she last calculated it to be 600-700 in an hour long class.
I found a couple websites that say you can actually burn 500-1000 calories!:

I’d love to figure out how many I (as in me personally) burn during my zumba classes, but I don’t feel like buying anything right now to do so. Maybe one day.
10:30 pm – Cracker Barrel – First Signs of Feeling Full (6)
We got a later than normal start heading out of town and ended up eating a super late dinner. I try to not eat after 9pm, but sometimes it happens, so I try to be flexible. We stopped at Cracker Barrel , and I got the grilled chicken tenders with collard greens and hashbrown casserole. I also had a biscuit with honey. I definitely could tell the food wasn’t quite as fresh as it normally is when there are more customers, but I guess that’s what you can expect when you eat close to closing time. It was still pretty good, and I enjoyed it.
We got in super late – after 1 am so we pretty much went straight to bed.
