Ahh I'll be there next WEEK – too bad you won't 🙁
P.S. – please check out the 8-part recap that I did on my blog when I was in NYC just a few weeks ago, haha.
Man, I want to go to NYC so bad!! Too bad next month won't work for me!! Have a great time and I'll keep an eye out on your blog for things to do when I FINALLY do make it there.
I'm not a blogger but I sometimes contribute to "The Fashionable Housewife". When are you going to be in NYC next month & what part? I grew up in NYC even though I don't live there anymore. Email me and let me know. If I'm not interviewing maybe we can meet up.
Recommended shopping in NYC (lots of walking but plenty of mass transportation: subway <— fastest) or buses are the least expensive way to get around)
1) 34th Street starting from Broadway (start at Macy's and walk East – lots of stores all along 34th Street); The Gap, Victoria's Secret, Express, Forever 21, Nine West, Banana Republic, Steve Madden, Foot Locker, Sephora, The Empire State Building, American Eagle, etc. very busy, bustling area.
2) 57th Street & 5th Avenue – "pricier" stores, still nice to browse, Tiffany, Henri Bendel, (Bloomingdale's Dept Store is on 59th Street), another Victoria's Secret,
3) Greenwich Village (both east & west)- lots of boutiques, lots of places to eat, LOTS of walking.
Eating:
1) Caliente Cab Company Mexican restaurant – corner of 7th Avenue & Bleecker Street
2) Sammy's Noodle Shop – great Chinese Food, fast service, the veggies here are always crisp and never overcooked. Located @ the corner of West 11th Street and 6th Avenue (also known as Avenue of the Americas)
3) There are the touristy places to eat that are around the West 42nd Street & Times Square area(Planet Hollywood, etc.) tend to be overpriced and "tourist traps".
Just a sampling of a few. If you need further info, let me know.
what dates are you going?
