As I mentioned before, things would get a little fun…err…crazy Saturday night.
And no, the post title wasn’t a metaphor for something. Here’s me…and a stripper pole. Ok, I guess technically it’s not a “stripper” pole since it wasn’t at a strip club, but it was a pole that we were expected to spin and dance on. lol
I went to Vertical Tease Charlotte with a group of girls to celebrate my friend Alicia’s birthday.
From Vertical Tease Charlotte’s web site:
Pole dancing with Tease Pole Dance is an opportunity to learn a sexy and unique blend of pole, exotic dancing, and fitness with friends in a party environment within your own home or our studio!
Not sure if you have a place in town that offers pole dancing classes in your area, but a lot of people actually have parties at these places for many reasons:
- birthdays
- bachelorette parties
- just for fun
- exercise (yes, it’s true!)
The boutique had 7 poles, but we had a large group of girls, so some of us had to share poles. 😉
Here’s me and Erica doing one of the warm up stretches.
The pole dance party was super fun! Our instructor did a great job of helping everyone feel comfortable, which helped people loosen up. Everyone had a really great time.
The only part that made me uncomfortable was at the end when we each had to do a mini solo performance while the rest of the group watched. My stage fright had my heart racing, but I did it. Phew!
After the pole party, we headed over to a hotel room the birthday party planner, Shinnel, had dressed up with fun decorations. There were plenty of snacks and eats.
Plus refreshments.
Plus strawberry cupcakes!
And one of Alicia’s friends even made us jello shots!
Erica and I gave the girls some jello-shot-pointers. 🙂
And after snacking and chit-chatting, it was time to get ready for a night on the town! We all headed out to a strip club with real stripper poles where none of us got on the poles. Whoa! I was a little uncomfortable in the strip club, but I did find the acrobatic moves of some of the strippers fascinating. It was almost cirque du soleil-like at times!
This birthday party made my bachelorette party look tame! In a fun way of course. 😉
Have you ever been to a sexy-themed birthday or bachelorette party? What did you do?
Those classes look so fun, but when it comes to real strip clubs, I’m uncomfortable too.
I love the pole classes…lol. My friend teaches those strip tease classes. Takes a lot of upper body strength.
Ow OW!!!!!
What a sassy, adventurous night!! Looks fun but I would definitely feel uncomfortable.
I’ve always wondered about those classes. I’m totally jealous; it looks like you had so much fun! And props to you for doing it in heels. 🙂
I once took a chair dancing class, let’s just say I learned a few new moves!
I work in a strip club so I am more comfortable there than I am in a regular club. I’ve heard those classes can be a lot of fun. Your Jello shots look amazing!! I want!
oh my – what a CRAZY night! Looks like lots of fun 🙂
That’s looks like fun.
I just wanted to come out of lurking to say that as someone ( a black woman) who has been your blog as well as many other healthy living blogs for quite a while, I would like to say that it is refreshing to see that you have such a diverse group of friends. I know I do also but that doesn’t seem to be true (or at least not presented in their blogs) with most of the other bloggers!
Thank you so much for coming out, Diana!!! It was such a blast and even better to have friends. I’m downloading pics tonight and will send them to you.
You go girl 😉
