Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
On Sunday, we had a brunch date with our friends who were in town for the weekend.
Their restaurant of choice – The Original Pancake House, which we also love. This is actually the restaurant we visited immediately after closing on our house a couple years ago.
I’d forgotten how good their pancakes are. They were so light & fluffy. I could eat a stack or two (or three?) right now. I’ve made a mental note to visit again soon. I’m thinking brinner later this week?
I went to Zumba later in the day, followed by a choreo training session with fellow Zumba instructors. I got to teach them a routine I choreographed to Starships. It’s so fun. I hope their classes enjoy it!
Though I thought white jeans would be more fashion-forward, I decided that comfort would rule for my brunch outfit. I wore skinny khakis that I recently scored at J. Crew for only $19.99. I bought the top at the same sale, though it wasn’t quite as cheap. The breezy and loose-fitting clothes were exactly what I needed on this hot and humid day. I think the temps were well in the 90s! Comfort usually beats style in my book.
Ensemble:
- Skinny khakis – J. Crew
- Floral top – J. Crew
- Sandals – Banana Republic
- Hot pink purse – Kate Spade
Which wins for you? Comfort or style?
What are your favorite things to wear to beat the heat?
Great top!
Cute shirt, Diana! Love the bright colors – perfect for summer. Comfort usually wins for me, but recently, I’ve been stepping out of the box with some more stylish outfits. I just posted about my ways to beat the summer heat http://wwwmyspareoom.blogspot.com/2012/06/modest-monday-week-4-summertime-is-here.html
and mentioned you on my food blog. I gave those pink nails a whirl! 😉

Cute post! I was going to leave a comment, but you have to have an account of some sort, and it wouldn’t let me leave one without it. :/
And thanks for the shout out! 🙂
Love your blog. Just wondering, are you going to post that coleslaw recipe from the hotdog party? I’ve been hoping…..
Hey KC! Thank you so much! I haven’t had the chance to test it out myself, and I want to make sure I estimated the proportions okay, since my friend’s dad just eyeballs all the measurements. lol. I’ll email you the untested recipe since it may be a bit before I can blog it. 😉
Just emailed it to you. 😉
