I had a lot of fun putting together this day-to-night look using a new polka dot top I scored at the J. Crew sale with some hot pink shorts I purchased at H&M last year. The only tricky part was wearing the blazer to take these photos. In this heat, it’s really meant for indoor events. Luckily, I had a smoothie to help cool off. Also, I’m not much of a hat person. I pretty much never wear them because I always feel like they don’t look right (read: I feel like a total idiot), but I thought this hat went okay with the day time look, plus I felt like experimenting.
Day
Night (shoe option #1 – low wedge)
(I decided to try to test out those Alexander Wang shoes with this outfit to see if they were worth keeping, even if they rub weird black goo on my toes. They’re so cute and comfortable. I just don’t know…but I did like them with this outfit)
Night (shoe option #2 – pointy heel)
(For another shoe option, I tried some simple black heels)

Reader question: Are you a hat person – yay or nay?
Oh yea, I’m a hat lady and have a nice collection 🙂 I have to confess, I’m so fond of parasols as well, please do not shoot me, hehe. I have only two, Miss Pinky and Miss Breeze. Yup, I’m that crazy giving my parasols names. And yes I use them all the time 🙂
But, alas, I haven’t bought a single hat for ages, due to my new lifestyle as a greeny, hehe. Here in Italy they make the best summer hats and to my torture there is a shop in the nearby town that sells only hats. I used to go and marvel, aka, drool, over the beautiful hats but then I stopped. The pain of not being able to get one of them proved to be too much, so I quit going there all together. But, I have to admit that I have a good collection, most of them in a mint condition, so it is not that bad.
Diana, I love your blog and keep coming for more, so please do not stop.
Kind Regards
Cyrene
I really like the hot pink with the polka dots-looks cute! I’m always a fan of a pointy toed pump-that’s pretty much what my entire shoe wardrobe is!
