Hi friends! Popping in with my Day 2 ZinCon vlog and blog post. This one is all about my Zumba Pro Skills Training, the Fitness Concert, and the unofficial after party. Plus I got to meet more of The Chic Life community. Woop!! Let’s get to it…

I met Jessica and Lauren in line for breakfast and coffee and snapped this photo with their other friends before almost accidentally pouring myself a nice, tall cup of decaf. Yikes! The labels on the coffees for decaf versus regular looked nearly identical.
For eats, I opted for the quiche of the day, which was a nice veggie-cheese combo. I also got this apple, though I didn’t manage to dig into this until training.
For training, since I knew there’d be a good chance I’d be in this all day, I opted for my sweat-wicking Reebok (vented) leggings and the new sports bra I got at the Zumba Wear Store.
I was too chicken to actually dance in just the sports bra though and wore this awesome Can’t Hold Me Down tank top all day.
Headed to Training
And look who I ran into on the way to training. It’s Brittney from last year’s vlog and blog post!
She was headed to the Beauty of Dance. I’ve since read the description on that session, and it’s high on my list to check out next year!
Zumba Pro Training – Morning
I’ve waited a couple years to take Zumba Pro Skills training because I wanted to wait until Steve Boedt led the session. He is the one who created afterall. But then I found out Kass was co-presenting, and I was extra IN. Love their energy together!
There was a third presenter who was also fabulous! I’ve looked everywhere for her name, and I can’t seem to find it. Does anyone know? Please leave a comment so I can update this post and give her a shout out.
After a fun master class, we had a 10 minute break, followed by some talking time which I used for snacking on my breakfast apple and stretching.
After that, we discussed how to do a great class introduction. It’s surprisingly hard. Like I thought mine was okay. Not because I’m a fantastic public speaker. But because I have stage fright and have practiced the heck out of it. But now I know I need more work to refine it further.
They brought some shy audience members up to practice, and I was so scared they were going to pick me. Phew!
No chicken wings, riiiiiight? Was anyone else at this year’s Pro Skills? I’m pretty sure I do the chicken wings. Lol!
Luckily, I purchased lunch at breakfast to save time: egg salad, leftover green beans, and coconut water.
It was as simple refresher, and I loved that it was waiting for me when I got back to my hotel room on break.
ZinCon Care Tips
And a couple tips, if you’re going to wear the same outfit all day, consider at least changing your socks. Something about the Florida humidity maybe, but your shoes seem to get pretty sweaty if you don’t change socks and bring at least two pairs of sneakers to switch in and out.
And when you’re done with your clothes, be sure to hang them up so they can dry out. If they stay on the floor, they’ll stay wet. Hanging them dry will make your return trip back easier.
Zumba Pro Skills – Afternoon
After lunch, we got into mirroring and I learned some great new techniques for cueing salsa and reggaeton moves.
We broke into groups of 3 to practice our cueing and mirroring throughout the afternoon. Katia and Deco from Brazil completed our trio. I even got to sign their flag!
And I couldn’t resist grabbing a quick selfie with Steve and Kass after class. I thought the line would be super long, but I somehow managed to be near the front.
I always want to tell them how much I’ve learned from them and how meaningful some of their classes and life lessons have been. But the time is so short. Perhaps I’ll email them one day since I never seem to get the chance in person.
After training, I headed back to the Zumba Store to do a quick shopping trip. It was right near the escalator as I was leaving training.
These sweatpants are my new favorite purchase. I’m wearing them as I blog!
I also bought those crazy blue pants I kept seeing around ZinCon and that roomie Annette got.
They’re so ridiculous, they’re cute. Ahhhh the pants only a Zumba instructor would wear. Haha.
And I ran into Melody after my mini shopping spree. She said she studied my ZinCon vlogs to prepare for her first convention. That is truly cool to hear they were so useful! This is exactly the reason I’ve been making these things, so yay!
Annette and I headed to the Fitness Concert after dinner.
Have you ever seen 6,000 Zumba instructors in one place, dancing unison? It would look something like this!
Our special guest for the evening was Gente de Zona. We do their song “La Gozadera” in class, so it was a treat to hear that live, in addition to some of their other wonderful music.
Unofficial After Party
And I always stay for the full Fitness Concert so I can see the crowd leaving up the escalators and see the unofficial after party. There is always at least one group doing some live music or dancing. So fun!
And I got to meet more of The Chic Life community – Lia and Marta and their friend Shay.
Woop! What a fun night!
