Hi friends! Today I want to share a super simple blueberry smoothie recipe. After all, blueberry season just getting started! Plus, I added some alkaline greens to make this an Alkaline Blueberry Banana Smoothie recipe. This clean eating smoothie recipe is so easy to throw together! It’s a really great way to get some nutrition boosting ingredients into your eats with little effort or preparation. Simple-healthy. Yay!
Pantry-Friendly Alkaline Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe
Even though blueberries are in season, I actually used frozen blueberries for this Alkaline Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe. It’s just what I had on hand. But that’s the awesome thing about this recipe. When your kitchen is well stocked, you can make this without needing any special shopping trips. At least these are ingredients I usually have in my pantry and freezer. #healthfoodlover
So your choice on the blueberries – fresh or frozen.
Alkaline Greens Powder
Let’s chat alkaline greens powder. I first got into this when I was working towards making my foods and body more alkaline.
But a quick tip, especially if you’ve never tried it…
…it’s not the most tasty smoothie add-in. Lol! Alkaline greens powder tends to have a strong taste and smell. So, I recommend starting small. It can easily overpower your other smoothie ingredients if you’re too heavy handed on the powder.
And what does it taste like?
Well, I guess I’d say it tastes a lot like…grass? Yum, right?
Seriously though, it’s not too bad, and if you’re into healthy eating, I’m sure you’ve had worse. 100% veggie juice anyone?
But, it’s best to be prepared.
Which Alkaline Greens Powder I Used
Since I’m a fan girl of Sarah’s Day, I recently placed an order with Tropeaka. This company is based in Australia, so if you’re in the US like me, be forewarned – the shipping ain’t cheap.
But the products are top notch from what I’ve used so far. And a little birdy told me that Tropeaka is working on better US shipping options.
One of the products from this order was a bag of their Alkaline Greens, which has been renamed as “Superfood Greens + D”. The D is because it has a plant-based source of vitamin D in the mix.
From the Tropeaka web site – more about Superfood Greens + D:
With a powerful combination of iron to reduce tiredness and improve clarity of mind; as well as vitamin C to contribute to cell protection and normal neurological function, this is a powerful natural source of health promoting goodness!
So far, I’m digging it.
And it worked really well in this Alkaline Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe.
Plus I added more health-boosting ingredients to this Alkaline Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe, like flaxseed and hemp seed. I mean…you basically can’t taste it, so why not add it? Yay for bonus nutrition!
And guess what? This is naturally sweetened thanks to the banana. Yay for no refined sugars!Print
