Alkaline Greens Powder
Let’s chat alkaline greens powder. I first got into this when I was working towards making my foods and body more alkaline.
But a quick tip, especially if you’ve never tried it…
…it’s not the most tasty smoothie add-in. Lol! Alkaline greens powder tends to have a strong taste and smell. So, I recommend starting small. It can easily overpower your other smoothie ingredients if you’re too heavy handed on the powder.
And what does it taste like?
Well, I guess I’d say it tastes a lot like…grass? Yum, right?
Seriously though, it’s not too bad, and if you’re into healthy eating, I’m sure you’ve had worse. 100% veggie juice anyone?
But, it’s best to be prepared.
Which Alkaline Greens Powder I Used
Since I’m a fan girl of Sarah’s Day, I recently placed an order with Tropeaka. This company is based in Australia, so if you’re in the US like me, be forewarned – the shipping ain’t cheap.

This easy Alkaline Blueberry Banana Smoothie Recipe is a delicious clean eating smoothie to enjoy any time of year. Make this healthy smoothie for a light breakfast or tasty snack.
- 1 ripe banana
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 teaspoon alkaline greens powder
- 1/2 tablespoon ground flaxseed, optional
- 1/2 tablespoon hemp seeds, optional
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (I used soy)
- 1/2 cup water
- Place banana, blueberries, alkaline greens powder, flaxseed (if using), hemp seeds (if using), ice, milk, and water in a blender.
- Cover and blend until ingredients are processed and smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Optional: garnish with blueberries and hemp seeds. Enjoy!
You can skip any of these: alkaline greens, hemp seeds, flaxseeds – for a simple blueberry smoothie.
