I’m really loving my Saturday morning/afternoon trips to the Farmers Market. It’s so nice to find some great deals, support local farmers, and meet some of the people who grow the food you eat. I think I need to print up some business cards so I can give them to the farmers so they can see what I do with their food!
This morning, I woke up with a horrible charlie-horse/crazy-leg-cramp at 6:30 am. It was awful…I get them every once in a blue moon and they’re really annoying. I was able to get back to bed but woke up around 9 am with a huge headache! Ugh…crappy way to start Saturday, but I was looking forward to some fun to get over it.
My bananas were starting to brown, so I put some in a tupperware to put in the freezer for smoothies later and put some in a bowl of oats I cooked up in the microwave with flaxseed to mash up.
I also added some 2% milk, sliced almonds, ground flaxseed, and a tiny spoonful of Peanut Butter & Co Dark Chocolate Dreams.
Oddly enough, the only difference between this bowl and the one above is a tsp of unsweetened cocoa powder. Funny how that cocoa powder makes the other bowl look so much more decadent.
I also had a Morningstar “sausage” since I haven’t had one in awhile and have been craving one…and because I wanted something savory.
After breakfast, we hit up a couple farmers markets.
The goods: red grapes, sweet potato, lemons, limes, apples, red pepper, mung bean sprouts, pickled jalapenos, green beans, tomato mixture, and something new – ostrich!
I love my farm fresh goodies!!
Check out your local farmers market! Meet the people who grow your food – they are fabulous! 🙂
Great finds at the market! One of the things that gets me through the weekdays are the thoughts of my market trips on Saturday.
I went to the Farmer's Market yesterday too! You bought a lot more than I did though!
