After the weekend full of amazing NYC eats, it was time for a little exercise.
We headed down to SoHo to visit one of my favorite yoga studios, Y7.
Y7 Studio Yoga SoHo
It was the Fourth of July, but we lucked out and one of my favorite teachers, Kate, had class.
After class, we walked a couple blocks over to Little Italy for a light brunch.
Two Hands Cafe
We hit up one of my faves, Two Hands Cafe, which I’ve blogged about before.
I started with an iced matcha latte.
And we almost missed out on Two Hands’ delicious banana bread yet again. When we first ordered, they didn’t have any available. But as luck would have it, we literally saw them bring in a freshly baked loaf. The upside? We got to enjoy a still-warm piece of banana bread. Fresh-baked is best, no?
We also split an acai bowl…
…and a ham and egg croissant. Everything was so good!
Since we were in the area, Sis wanted to do a little shopping in Chinatown to pick up a couple things before she left NYC. Basically, she wanted more green tea kit kats. I don’t think you can get them back in SC. But if anyone knows of a spot, let us know!
Sis also wanted one last bubble tea from our fave, Boba Guys.
Petite Abeille
We had plans to watch the Fourth of July fireworks, so had an early dinner at Petite Abeille. They have an amazing deal for early eaters. Three courses with a drink for only $30. It’s hard to beat.
I started with French onion soup.
And though it probably wasn’t the best idea to go double-cheese on the eats, I had the mac and cheese for my entree. I’ve had the mac and cheese before and really like it here. They put little pieces of ham in it. It kind of reminds me of a dish my mom used to cook when I was a kid.
We shared brussels sprouts for some veg. Gotta balance things out.
And finally we met up with our friends on the East side of town to watch the fireworks. We tried to watch them from our friend’s apartment rooftop, but as it turns out there was a building right where the fireworks were going off. We quickly headed downstairs and walked down the street a bit. We joined a large group watching the fireworks from the ground.
