With most of ZinCon Day 3 in the books, I still had a full night ahead of me: a great dinner and the infamous Zumba Theme Party.

Dinner at David’s (Hilton Orlando)
Angie and I visited David’s at the Hilton for another dinner since we enjoyed our tofu dish so much the night before. We asked for Dwayne since he had assisted with our table the night before and been so helpful and friendly. It was a great decision because he helped us select something new to try – the mahi mahi special.
It was so good. I really can’t believe this is my fifth year at ZinCon and staying at the Hilton Orlando, and I haven’t really eaten much at David’s. The tofu and this fish entrĂ©e were standout delicious. My mahi mahi was served with a cream sauce (that I think was made with moonshine?). Plus, we got broccolini and potato wedges on the side.
We were so full but somehow managed to make room for this unique quinoa dessert. Even with all of her allergies, Angie was able to enjoy this dessert as is. It was made with quinoa soaked in coconut milk, topped with fruit and non-dairy ice cream. It was light, only slightly sweet (in a good way), and we really didn’t mind over-eating a little to enjoy this tasty treat. This is the kind of meal that I’d go out of my way to go order. But, Orlando is a bit far from NC. Due to the long distance, I’m hoping to re-create something similar to this dessert to enjoy at home. I’ll let you guys know if and when I figure something out.
Zumba Convention Theme Party Photos
After a quick change, it was time to head out to the Theme Party. This year’s theme was “luau”. I saw lots of grass skirts, pirates, and other beach-related costumes. I could have taken photos all night long. There were so many unique outfits there. Here are some I thought you’d like…
And just past these double doors was a whole other room full of fun.
Inside, they had music playing. There was live singing when Angie and I got there.
And soon after they started a costume contest. Guess who won?
The adorable couple with the blingy, gold mermaid tails we’d taken a photo with earlier! They were so cute together. I’m so glad they won, even though there were so many great costumes on display on stage and in the audience.
You can check out more of the costumes (and the rest of my Day 3 ZinCon experience) on my vlog:
