77 Best Writing Manifestation Methods and Ideas

What Is Manifestation?

Manifestation is the idea of turning your thoughts into your reality. It’s about taking something from just an idea or dream in your head into something you can experience in your day-to-day life.

What Are Manifestation Techniques and Methods?

Manifestation Techniques are different ways that you can put manifestation into action. Think of them like exercises you can do to take manifestation from a general (and potentially obscure) idea to something you cam execute through a particular method or series of steps.

Manifestation Method Variety

There are so many amazing ways to manifest and use the Law of Attraction. You can use thoughts, visualization, art, journaling, and more. And there’s no one way that will work best for everyone.

Different manifestation techniques work for different people.

In this post, we’re focusing on writing manifestation methods.

The Power of Writing Manifestation Methods

Some people argue that writing invokes a more powerful response from your mind.

This Forbes article talks about how writing things down happens on two levels: external storage and encoding. And encoding may have powerful effects on your long-term memory:

Encoding is the biological process by which the things we perceive travel to our brain’s hippocampus where they’re analyzed. From there, decisions are made about what gets stored in our long-term memory and, in turn, what gets discarded. Writing improves that encoding process. In other words, when you write it down it has a much greater chance of being remembered.

Since your subconscious can block your manifestation from happening, perhaps writing can help re-program it to support what you really want in life?

Possibly more important is this. If you like writing, you’ll have more fun with these manifestation ideas. And as Abraham Hicks says, when we feel good, we attract good things!

Either way, all of the manifestation methods, techniques, and ideas in this post are writing-based!

Best Writing Manifestation Methods and Ideas Overall

Here are the *overall* BEST writing manifestation methods. There are SO many ways to use the Law of Attraction. And the good news is that you can get positive results with any one of them. Different writing manifestation methods, techniques, and ideas work differently for different people.

So experiment and see what works best for YOU!

#1 Write a list of the things you want to manifest

One of the most common manifestation mistakes is focusing on what you don’t want. Followed closely by not knowing what you want.

When you know exactly what you want to manifest, you start the process of bringing that to your reality. Put some positive energy towards it, and you’re on your way.

#2 Write positive affirmations

When you know what you want to manifest, be sure to think about them the right way. If you are focused on how those things are NOT present in your life or put other negative energy towards them, it pushes them further away from you.

By writing positive affirmations for your desires, you create positive, magnetic energy that draws them closer to you. Be sure to write your affirmations in present tense to harness the Law of Attraction.

#3 Make a gratitude list

The energy of gratitude is one of the most magnetic energies for the Law of Attraction. In fact, appreciation is #1 on The Abraham-Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale.

When you are vibrating in the energy of gratitude, you will bring your desires to you much more quickly and easily.

Try making a list of ALL the things you’re currently grateful for and feel into the energy of appreciation.

#4 Make an abundance list

When you focus on how something is present in your life, it brings more of that thing in.

Want love? Focus on how love is already around you. You may want a romantic relationship, but if you think about the way your friends, family, or even pets love you, you’ll see that the general idea of love is all around. And that will bring more love into your life through Law of Attraction. Remember – like attracts like!

For whatever you want to manifest, make a list of all the ways it’s already part of your life and feel good energy while you do it.

#5 Convert what’s lacking in your life into powerful, positive affirmations

When you focus on what you don’t have in your life, you’ll create more lack. More absence of that thing. If you focus on the lack too much, it will be so much harder to manifest it.

So take what’s lacking or missing in your life and convert those things into powerful, positive affirmations.

If you think about how you’re broke or don’t have much money in your bank account, you’ll call in the energy of financial lack. But if you convert that idea into an affirmation for what you DO want, you’ll begin to attract it.

While I love doing this for negative thought re-writing, it’s a great exercise to go from converting the thoughts in your mind to on paper.

So, make a list of what’s lacking. Then, strike through each one and write your new, positive affirmation that will replace it.

From -> To

  • I’m broke -> My bank account grows larger every day
  • No one loves me -> I’m so grateful for the ways love is present in my life now
  • My job sucks -> I’m so thankful to have a job I look forward to doing each day

This is very similar to an awesome exercise in the book You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay.

#6 Keep a manifestation journal

Dedicate a specific journal to be all about manifestation and the Law of Attraction. This sets a powerful intention that helps infuse your journal with magnetic, positive energy.

#7 Re-write your limiting beliefs

Another powerful re-writing exercise is to re-write your limiting beliefs. I have so much to say about limiting beliefs.

To keep things short for this post, limiting beliefs are beliefs that hold you back from what you really want in life. Oftentimes, these are subconscious beliefs that are based on experiences from our past. Someone may have made you feel unloved when you were younger, and now you fear no one will ever love you.

But the truth is usually so much more positive. You probably do have family, friends, and other loved ones who care a great deal about you.

And when you really dig into your beliefs, you may discover there are others that simply aren’t objectively true.

Notice any limiting beliefs you have about yourself or the world. Write them down. Then scratch through them and write a new supporting belief.

This will help re-program your subconscious mind for positive outcomes as well as help you manifest more successfully.

#8 Keep a manifestation success list

Write down all your manifestation success stories in your journal, etc. Refer to it later to raise your vibe and feel good feelings about manifesting successfully.

#9 Try a “What Feels More True” exercise to shift negative thoughts to positive thoughts

If you’re feeling a negative thought about your manifestation, write it down. Ask yourself, “What feels more true?” Think of a new thought that feels more true and is at least slightly more positive. Repeat until you have at least a neutral thought. And ideally keep going til you have a positive thought, if you have the capacity for that.

#10 Have a daily gratitude practice

As I mentioned earlier, appreciation is one of the most powerful and magnetic feeling states you can be in for the Law of Attraction.

By having a daily gratitude practice, you’ll generally raise your vibe and spend more time in that energy, which will help you be magnetic on the daily.

This is one of the ways I am a super manifestor and can call things into my reality without even using any techniques.

I’ve been using this 5 Minute Journal since 2016 for my personal daily gratitude practice, and I LOVE it! There’s an app and physical book, so you have options.

#11 Add your angel numbers to your journal

Seeing repeating numbers? These are angel numbers, and they can be powerful signs from the Universe/your higher power.

Write down each angel number you see in your journal. Document what you were looking at, thinking about, or experiencing and see if you notice any patterns.

Research the angel numbers online and add any notes that resonate with you.

Think about what messages or signs may be coming through for you.

#12 Take notes from your favorite Law of Attraction teachers’ videos

Watch your favorite Law of Attraction teachers on YouTube, TikTok, etc. and take notes about what you’re learning.

#13 Take notes from your favorite Law of Attraction teachers’ books

Read your favorite Law of Attraction teachers’ books and take notes about what you’re learning.

#14 Take notes from your favorite Law of Attraction teachers’ podcasts

Listen to your favorite Law of Attraction teachers’ podcasts and take notes about what you’re learning.

#15 Try gratitude journaling

Journal about all the things you’re currently grateful for to raise your vibe and get into the energy of appreciation. Detail out how and why you’re grateful for each thing that comes to mind.

#16 Create a list of desired feelings

Write a list of feelings you’d ideally like to feel. Focus on manifestations and aligned actions that will get you closer to feelings these feelings.

I first discovered focusing on ideal feelings by reading Firestarter Sessions by Danielle LaPorte. It’s a great read!

#17 Ask for guidance

Ask the Universe / your higher power for guidance, and then try stream of consciousness journaling. Just write and let whatever wants to come out come out. Review what you wrote to see if you got any downloads or ideas. This is a great way to gain insights and discover ideas for aligned actions you can take later.

#18 Create an “Act as If” Feelings List

To call your manifestation into your reality, it’s important to “Act as if”. This means to step into the person you’d be if you had the thing you’re manifesting now.

Imagine yourself achieving your manifestation now. How would you feel?

Write those feelings down and then try to embody them now to bring your manifestation into your reality.

#19 Create an “Act as If” Action List

Similar to the above, put yourself into future you who has your desired manifestation. What steps would this version of you take?

Write the actions down and consider trying them out (if it makes sense) to embody the person you’d be who already has your manifestation.

For example: if you’re trying to manifest a romantic relationship, it could be a good idea to buy date night clothes for the types of dates you want to go on.

#20 Start a Law of Attraction quote list

Write your favorite Law of Attraction quotes down.

#21 Practice gratitude first thing in the morning

As soon as you wake up, write down three things you’re grateful for to start your day in abundant and grateful energy. Morning is the best time (IMO) to practice gratitude.

Starting your day with gratitude is one of the best ways to raise your vibe. This will help you become a super manifestor who manifests without even needing techniques.

#22 Make a gratitude + desires list

Write a list of things you’re currently grateful for. As you make the list, feel into the energy of appreciation or whatever other positive feelings naturally come to you. Notice your vibration raising. From this elevated state, write a list of things you currently desire. Let the energy of appreciation fill you while you create your desires list.

This method comes from Amanda Frances in her must buy money manifestation book Rich as F*ck.

#23 Make a gratitude list for the things you’re manifesting

Did you know you can practice gratitude for things you don’t even have yet? It will actually help invoke the Law of Attraction if you do.

Being in gratitude for the not-yet manifested informs the Universe that you know that what you desire already exists and puts you at the right frequency to receive it.

Jen Sincero

Practice gratitude for the things you’re currently manifesting to become an energetic match for your desires and call them in.

#24 Use manifestation journal prompts

There are TONS of wonderful manifestation-oriented journal prompts that will help you manifest your desires. Try one out once a week.

#25 Write the “why” behind your manifestation

Our manifestations are often more powerful when we’re deeply connected to the “why” behind them. Journal about why you’re manifesting what you are and why it’s important to you.

#26 Write positive affirmations in your planner

When you use a planner, you look at it all the time. Why not fill your mind with positive thoughts that help you magnetize your desires by writing positive affirmations in the empty spaces of your planner?

#27 Write a letter from your future self

Write a note from your future self to your current self. Tell all about your amazing future life and detail all the best parts. Feel into the positive energy of how amazing that future life will be to align to it.

#28 Try my sticky note affirmation trick

It can be hard to remember to use affirmations regularly. Write your current favorite affirmation on a sticky note and put it on your bathroom (or other) mirror so you’ll see it frequently. Say your affirmation when you see it to use it regularly.

Click here for more tips on this affirmation sticky note trick.

#29 Journal about a manifestation success story you’ve enjoyed

Write about one of your manifestation success stories. Feel positive and successful feelings to help you remember you have manifested before and you’ll manifest again. This will help you align to the energy of being successful at manifesting what you choose.

#30 Keep a meditation journal

Journal after your meditation sessions. See if you received any downloads or you notice any patterns that can help provide guidance, ideas for aligned action, etc. that can help with your current manifestation(s).

#31 Figure out what’s holding you back

Open your journal and write: “What’s holding me back right now?” Then do stream of consciousness journaling and let yourself write freely. Go back through what you wrote and see if you can gain some insights to apply to remove any manifestation blocks, etc.

#32 Write a list of small things to manifest

While to the Universe it’s just as easy to manifest $1 as 1 million, for some of us, it can be easier to start out manifesting something small.

Make a list of small things to manifest and pick one to try out.

Click here for a list of small things to manifest plus tips to help you manifest something small.

#33 Release your manifestation to the Universe / God / your higher power

If you find yourself worrying about your manifestation, release it to the Universe / God / your higher power. Write down, “Thank you, Universe / God/ your higher power for taking care of <insert manifestation> for me. I’m so grateful for your support, and I trust you’re working for my highest good.”

#34 Make a worry box

A worry box is a box that you designate to hold your worries, fears, and concerns. When you have a worry-related thought, write it down and add it to the box. This signifies you releasing the worry and giving it a place to exist that isn’t your brain.

Worry boxes are a technique for stress-management and are even suggested as a therapy activity or coping skill. For manifestation, this can be a powerful activity to help clear blocks and create positive thoughts and energy to help you align to what you want to manifest.

#35 What would your future self do?

When you’re trying to figure out how to get from where you are to where you want to be, one of the effective manifestation techniques is to “act as if”. This means to act as though you’re already the person has or is what you desire.

Imagine you’re already your future self as you dream. Write about what this version of you would be doing, saying, and thinking. And then decide what from the list you want to put into practice.

#36 Sign up for a gratitude challenge

Join a 10 or 30 day gratitude challenge so you can raise your vibe through focusing on positive things, regularly practicing gratitude, and having fun doing it with others. Write down your daily gratitude practice to add extra positive vibes.

#37 Write your daily highlights at night

At the end of each day, write 1-3 highlights from your day. Feel in to the positive feelings of the wonderful things that happened today. This is an easy yet powerful way to raise your vibe.

This is also a feature in the 5 Minute Journal that I’ve used since 2016. This is available in app and physical format.

#38 Make a list of your favorite writing manifestation methods

Especially if you’re new to manifestation, make a list of writing manifestation methods to try. Different techniques, methods, and ideas work for different people. So choose some of your favorites from this list and try them out.

#39 Get super clear on what you want to manifest

If you’re waffling between two versions of what you want to manifest, you can confuse the Universe / your higher power because it won’t know what to bring you. If this is you, take some time to journal and write out to make a choice and get specific on exactly what you want to manifest.

#40 Use your negative thoughts to get clarity on what you DO want

When I saw Abraham Hicks live in San Francisco, someone asked if negative thoughts were bad. Abraham said negative thoughts are good because when you know what you DON’T want, you know what you DO want.

So if you’re having trouble getting clear on what you want, write a list of what you DON’T want, scratch through each item and write the opposite aka what you DO want. Now, focus on the things you DO want to attract them.

#41 Make a joy list and do it

You manifest FAST when you’re having fun. Make a list of things that bring you joy and do them to raise your vibes.

Best Famous Writing Manifestation Methods and Ideas

Here are some classics of the best famous writing manifestation methods of all time! Each of these could be its own dedicated blog post, so I’ve included some top level descriptions that can help you get started if you don’t like a lot of detailed guidance.

If I have additional tips, blog posts, YouTube videos, or other resources, I’ve linked those below.

#1 Try the Scripting Manifestation Technique

Write a journal entry for an ideal day of your dream life. Use present tense to speak it into existence. Past tense can also work if you’re writing a diary entry about the amazing day you just experienced.

Click here for a blog post where I shared one of my scripting entries and whether it worked or not!

#2 Do the Two Cup Method

The Two Cup Method uses (you guessed it) two cups, drinking water, and sticky notes (or paper + tape).

The basic idea is that you fill one cup up with water to represent your current situation. Use a sticky note or paper plus piece of tape to label it with a note that describes your current situation (for example: “I’m lonely, single, and sad”). Use another note to label the empty cup with the situation you want (for example: “I’m in loving and committed relationship with a partner who makes me feel safe, secure, and loved”).

Next, you focus on your current situation and shift into feeling into your desired reality. Then pour the water into the empty cup. This represents shifting your reality. Finally, you drink the water to symbolize embodying your new reality.

Click here to learn more about the Two Cup Method with Leeor Alexandra.

#3 Try the 3 x 33 Manifestation Method

Choose a specific thing to manifest. Then, write a positive affirmation for that thing.

Next, set the mood. Get into a calm and focused state of mind and write your affirmation 33 times while also feeling into your affirmation. Repeat this for 3 consecutive days. The repetition helps you align to your desire and generate positive energy.

If you get distracted or feel any negative feelings, take a break and start over. It’s important to infuse your 3 x 33 method with positive, focused energy.

#4 Do the Pillow Method

The time right before you fall asleep is a powerful time to reprogram your subconscious mind and manifest your desires. To do the pillow method, start by writing a positive affirmation for the thing you’re currently manifesting. Use present tense and positive feelings similar to the affirmation you’d write for the 369 manifestation method.

Finish doing everything else you need to settle in for bed. As the last thing you do before sleeping, read your affirmation and feel into the positive emotions you’d feel if your manifestation were true. Place your affirmation under your pillow and go to sleep.

#5 Try the 5 x 55 Manifestation Method

5 x 55 is similar to 3 x 33 above. But this time you’ll write your affirmation 55 times for 5 days in a row.

Remember, the important thing is to stay focused on your affirmation and feel positive feelings while you execute this writing manifestation method.

#6 Write the Easy “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” technique

One of my all time favorite and in my opinion best manifestation techniques is the “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” technique by Abraham Hicks. This is a fun one to say out loud, but you can also write it down in your journal or planner.

Simply write “Wouldn’t it be nice if” and add whatever you want to manifest to the end. Have fun and stay light-hearted with this one to reduce friction, remove manifestation blocks, and manifest effortlessly.

This method is from Abraham Hicks’s book Ask and It Is Given. It’s a great read and many more great manifestation tips and techniques.

#7 Try the 7 x 77 Manifestation Method

If you really like writing, you may like the 7 x 77 manifestation method. It’s like the 3×33 and 5×55 methods listed above. Unsurprisingly, you’ll take similar steps except you’ll write your affirmation 77 times for 7 days.

#8 Start a Manifestation Jar

There are many ways to do a manifestation jar. The simplest idea is to write down affirmations and intentions for what you want to manifest on small pieces of paper. Then you put those pieces of paper into the jar and let the Universe work its magic.

You can also put small objects, trinkets, and other things that represent your dreams into the jar.

#9 Try the 369 Manifestation Method

The 369 Manifestation Method is currently one of the most trendy and popular techniques out there. All you need to do is write a positive affirmation for the thing you want to manifest. Then write that affirmation 3 times in the morning, 6 times in the day, and 9 times at night.

This is related to inventor Nikola Tesla, and his “divine numbers” 3, 6, and 9.

Click here to learn more about the 369 Manifestation Method and get tips for success!

#10 Write the Abraham Hicks 17-Second Rule

Abraham Hicks says that 17 seconds is the point of combustion for manifestation. If you can hold a pure, positive thought for 17 seconds, it kicks off your manifestation. The idea is to follow that thought with another 17 second thought. Then another.

Write a positive affirmation for what you want to manifest. that takes at least 17 seconds to write out. Then write another. And keep repeating as long as it feels good.

#11 Do the 11:11 Method

The 11:11 Method is similar to the 369 Manifestation Method above. The 1111 angel number is one of the most powerful for manifestation success.

For the 11:11 Method, choose one thing to manifest and write a positive affirmation for it. Write your positive affirmation 11 times in the morning and 11 times at night for 11 consecutive days. Remember to feel positive feelings while you write your affirmation and imagine your affirmation being real to align to the energy of that desire.

#12 Add positive words to your vision board

Did you know you can add more than photos and other visuals to your vision board?

I LOVE to add positive words related to the things I’m calling in to my vision boards.

Whatever you want – find the word in a magazine or printable and add it to your vision board:

  • Love
  • Wealth
  • Happy
  • Boyfriend
  • Relaxed
  • Etc.

You can even write affirmations directly onto your vision board with pens, markets, and other writing tools.

#13 Add affirmations to your vision board

Similar to the above idea, you can also add affirmations to your vision board.

Make custom affirmations on Canva or Microsoft Word. Print, cut, and glue them to your vision board.

You can even write affirmations directly onto your vision board with pens, markets, and other writing tools.

#14 Convert a planner page to a mini vision board

Convert one of the pages in your planner into a mini vision board. I like to take the page that has the month name on it and add stickers to it for a monthly themed vision board. Then I’ll write in what I’m manifesting that month around with the stickers.

#15 Do the Place Mat Process

Take a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle.

  • On the left hand side, write at the top: Things I Will Do Today
  • On the right hand side, write at the top: Things I Want the Universe to Do
  • On the left side, write all the things you truly intend to do that day.
  • On the other side, write the things you’d like the Universe (or your higher power) to take care of.
  • Focus on your to-do list and let your other list signify your turning those to-dos to the Universe.

This manifestation practice is from Abraham Hicks’s book Ask and It Is Given. It’s a great read and many more great manifestation tips and techniques.

If you see paying bills as losing money, it will create lack around money. By being grateful for having money to pay your bills, you’ll call in the energy of abundance and attract more money. Practice gratitude for paying your bills and other debts.
